Chat would be good for a few days and then it would lose it luster and die out. It would also take away post count which I want to have keep raising for awhile

I'm just saying that because I find the layouts of the other websites easier to navigate. That's all.
there is also user/member select theme and it retains that particular theme chosen. so if i selected a black background theme with white lettering (which i do on another site) it should return me to the selected black background theme everytime i logged on. it would be nice if i could go to a black screen background.
Here's some ideas I've used before.
How about an arcade? To play in the arcade, you earn arcade money from the amount of threads and posts you have posted.
This would help encourage activity, hopefully of quality content.
Also, how about a featured ride? I use a program embedded in the header that randomly selects a member's ride from a pool of pictures. Each time a user clicks a link or refreshes the page, a different image loads. I resized all the images to be smaller than 300 pixels wide, which in turn makes the load on the server lighter and doesn't affect load times. Here's a snapshot of what it looks like.
