So has anyone ever converted from column shifter to floor shifter? Seems like this would be a nightmare to do, but I really want a floor shifter. Easier to just buy another truck? lol

Lol first you need the console which I'm selling. Then you need to wait and let me finish mine lol I'm working on it now :)

long question, why? The floor shifter gives a sporty feel. The column shifter feels like a grandpa truck. :D

it's an automatic... lose lose situation. It's just where the lame stick goes.

You can still manually shift an auto. Even in my crappy truck, I'm faster when shifting the gears manually. I just hate using that little thumb switch to do it. A T-handle type shifter would make the jump easier and more precise.

Upgraded or modified valve bodies give you even more control. I like to think of automatics as clutchless manuals. lol

Awww man, I love using that little thumb switch to shift gears! I feel all cool and stuff because I don't have to manually push a stick up and down to do it lol....I'm sophisticated and have a button to shift gears haha. My friends love that feature. I'm the exact opposite I guess, I wouldn't want the floor shifter just because I like the thumb switch

When i go to the track i leave mine in 3 & do my burnout's in 2. Manual shifting is fun on the street, but i never do it @ WOT. Bad thing's can happen! I love driving down the street kinda slowly & downshifting to 2, then bring the RPM's up & punch it a little. Man, i'll throw you back in the seat! :) LOL

Yep, i leave it in "3"! My T hold's 3rd. till right after the finish line. Even w/ my DR's there's no reason to shift to 4th.

You have to change your transmission if I'm not mistaken.
You'll see theres two different part numbers for trannies with floor and column shift. Maybe it's simpler than that just change the linkage perhaps? but the presence of that thumb switch tells me different.
Idk which I prefer I've owned titans with column and floor in that order the thumb switch on the column is sweet and not having to reach up to the column to shift is convenient. The column is more traditional of a truck it took me a minute to adjust to the idea of a floor shifter I've always imagined them in cars. It is comfortable though I do miss the bench seat having the extra seat when needed but I like the privacy feel of captains chairs.

I believe its mostly the linkage

Hi there, honestly that would be a custom job but if you want to do that, you would want to get important parts of your project with genuine nissan truck parts (http://www.stylintrucks.com/vehicles/nissan.aspx). That way if something wrong happens with your conversion, you can still have it covered under warranty :)
