View Full Version : Does your Titan feel it's age?

My 05, with 100k on the clock, is sure feeling it's age. When it's cold outside, I get random squeaks that come and go. The handling seems less sporty and the seat bolsters aren't supportive like they used to be. Add to the mix little dings and scratches.

It makes me want to trade it in for a newer truck. I found a slate gray Tundra SR5 RCSB 5.7 with 25k miles for $18k. On the other hand, the Titan still runs good and best of all, it's paid for. That makes all the little faults easy to over look. lol

Mine does have all those little nicks and dings, but driveable wise feels good. Well, except for my TC or Tranny issue, but thts not my trucks fault LOL, thats my fault for hitting the track so much. My truck still feels young, but is looking a bit older with some faded trim and knicks and scrapes

Mine also has mood swings. Some days, it feels really strong. Other days, it feels weak. I still think the cracked manifolds have something to do with it.

squeaks are inevitable but get some bilstein shock replacements to get those god-awfully HORRIBLE oem shocks out of their and the ride will be firmer and much more improved from how it is driving now. it'll even feel new! have your truck claybarred and then polished and waxed and the finish will return to a beautiful shine. performance wise for increased feel in power perhaps getting some hi-flow cats and a custom exhaust could help. i'm sure the performance enthusiasts could offer some suggestions.

I've had all sorts of goodies, from UpRev to PGM to DT headers. Seems like every time I buy a mod, I wind up selling it for one reason or another.:emotions122:

I would say that I've got a gem. Does it feel it's age--shoot no, I love it more today than the day I bought it. I do however need to look into some new shocks/struts, still got the factory one's, lol. 54k on it now, BTW

If your considering shocks, then I say do some Bilstein's like dh said. I forgot about those. i have to say that is a big reason my truck still feels good. I have Bilstein 5100's in the rear and Hellwig helper springs. My healper springs had come loose, causing all inds of pops and cracks. Now that i tightened them up, they along with the 5100's make my truck feel unbelieveable. It take bumps like a caddy and handles like an x-runner (not really, but you get the point)....100% worth-it upgrade

My '04 is still feeling its youth although i've had my share of the first production year problems. I guess it helps that i've only got 59,*** miles on her. HARD MILES. LOL

34K on the 05, I love how it rides, but going from my dad's 2010 with 650 miles on it to mine, hugeeeeeeee difference... Not sure which one I like better tho..

My '05 has 62K. It has the usual scrapes & ding's. An occacional squeak here & there, but that's to be expected w/ any vehicle. Performance wise is great! Getting faster by the month! The trans. was replaced at around 58K, no problem's since, shift's great! The interior on the other hand, has gotten pretty bland to me. I need to do some interior mod's to spruce it up. I want a double din headunit w/ a 7" screen, aftermarket alarm system & a carbon fiber dash kit.

My '04 is doing great, with only 42k on the clock, I should have it a long time.. I haven't had any troubles to speak of with the exception of the "Brake Fix" at about 12k (they got it right the first time). And a pickup wouldn't be a pickup without a rattle or squeak here & there...

Mines an 04 and just turned over 70k on the ODO. It's been a relatively good vehicle, although the freezing door handle pulls each and every winter is a huge anoyance! I have to admit though that the styling of the Titan seems to age fairly well. I don't get tired of its' lools at all. The interior seems a bit dated, especially when compared to a 2009 or 2010 but I don't mind. I initially scotch guarded the entire interior when I first bought it and normally steam clean everything at least 3 or 4 times a year, then re-scotch guard so no major stains. I hope that I can hang on to this truck for another 3-4 years.... but it's hard to resist getting a new Titan when Nissan's offering a $5k rebate of 0% financing for 60 months! (I'd really love a red PRO-4X with leather!!!)

Mines an 05, can't really say it feels old yet at 44K. It still drives better then ever, the exterior is mint except for the faded cowl, the interior is showing a bit of wear especially on the drivers seat.

70,000 miles. 2006 Still loves a curvy road, but I am starting to not trust the tires to get as good traction as they used to.

I have an 04 KC with 65k on the clock. it has chips in the paint and dents in the metal. I use this truck as my main hunting and fishing vehicle. I have got to take it in to be serviced real soon. The Driver's rear door wont open right noow so I need to get that fixed. I have had the most fun EVER driving this truck. Only major thing I have had to do with this truck was to change a gasket on the transfer case. it did have the brake repairs but Nissan covered that . it is Silver but right now it is brown because it is covered with mud from one of my last hunting trips.

That's the only good thing about my XE; being stripped, there isn't much to go wrong - lol

I think my seat is the biggest complaint. It's starting to show wear, and the bolsters suck, offering almost no support in turns.

my 2004 with 73k miles feels just as alive as my 2006 with 19k miles.. except not as fast but thats what a big lift/tires with only intake and exhaust does... lol

At 6 years 50k miles still drives great. The usual 50k scratches dings etc.. Love my truck.
